Wrapped In Love

Hi everyone,
It's 14 days to Valentine's day and there is so much DIY to get busy with: packaging ideas, inexpensive gifts, classy packaging, homemade gifts, tricks for the season, and lots more.
February is the month of love, and we are kicking of the year with our February campaign "Wrapped In Love" our love month is going to be filled with lot's of love gifting ideas all month long. Before we get down to that, I have a few things to share with everyone.

Firstly, I want to thank everyone that has followed this blog over the last year, i didn't get to do a lot of posts, but i was very pleased to have so many people reading and writing back to me, i truly appreciate you all and would do a whole lot more to make this year even better for us all.

Secondly, I want to use this opportunity to share Wrapped In It's new website: http://www.wrappedinit.com/  formerly www.wrappedinit.com.ng , our website is fully updated to reflect the products and services offered in our company. The switch from .com.ng to .com was something we had to debate on, and eventually decided to go with the .com. Although we are a local gift company, we see ourselves doing things on a global scale, and so we would like our website to reflect that as well.

Wrappedinit.blogspot remains your number one place for free gift ideas, packaging tricks, easy tutorials...
Follow us on twitter : @WrappedInItNG like us on facebook: WrappedInIt for your occasional gifting treats.

It's In The Packaging

With the launch of our Slogan, It's In The packaging, I decided to do a post about gift packaging to get you aware of the importance of properly packaged gift items.

At a gathering i was recently at, the speaker asked, "Which has more value, champagne in a water bottle or water in a champagne bottle?"
If you said champagne in a water bottle, you are wrong and you should definitely read-on before you send out your next gift item. :)
So this is why, people would pay more for an item that has better packaging than one that isn't so excellent, the content might be good but people are drawn to the appearance before they taste the content.

And so at Wrapped In It we have clients that choose to purchase less pricey items, but still want the recipient of the gift to appreciate it and feel special, which is not an issue, because not all gift items should be pricey, we give each and every customer a brilliant package to leave a lasting impression on the recipient.

TIPS

  • If you are purchasing your gift item from a gift store ensure you ask for it to be wrapped for you(especially if you have no skill in wrapping gifts), gift stores don't usually charge for that, so take advantage of that opportunity.
  • If you have no way to wrap a gift and you are on a tight schedule, grab a gift bag and gift tissues(almost every store/supermarket sells them), place tissue in gift bag and place item in the bag, gives a beautiful feel to present especially when tissues are brightly coloured.

Re-gifting >>>do's and don'ts

When it comes to giving presents there's always a time when you might not want to make a purchase on an item or you simply feel you have something worth giving or maybe you are trying to cut down on your spending.
Have you considered Re-gifting?

Regifting: is the act of taking a gift that has been received and giving it to somebody else, sometimes in the guise of a new gift.

Here are my tips on re-gifting

  • If you are taking on re-gifting as a full-time strategy to gift giving, its important to have a gift log, to keep track of gift received and from who, so as to ensure you aren't giving the gift to the same person >>> NEVER GIVE A GIFT BACK TO THE PERSON IT WAS RECEIVED FROM
  • Fairly used items can be re-gifted as long as they are still in good conditions, and of course the person you are giving the item to must have shown an interest in the gift item. It's always a good choice to announce it was re-gifted if item has already been used.>>>> WHEN RE-GIFTING ENSURE ITEMS ARE IN GOOD CONDITIONS
  • Items with personalized engravings, no matter the condition of the item should never be given to someone else as a gift. >>>> NEVER RE-GIFT ITEMS WITH PERSONALIZED ENGRAVINGS
  • As much as the re-gifting idea might be to minimize spending, spending a little fee on re-wrapping the item is an essential part of re-gifting. >>>>ALWAYS RE-WRAP ITEMS
  • You hate the ugly sweater knitted for you or the clutch made especially for you, that's not a good enough reason to discard of it, the items made specially for you would have been made with a lot of thought or effort put into it, so no matter how hideous. >>>>NEVER RE-GIFT A CUSTOM MADE ITEM

Gift Items: Wine Bottles

Hey guys,
Hope you had a lovely holiday season, I certainly did. I had a lot of orders for hampers, thanks to God, I also had a lot of events to attend: house warming parties, barbecues, Christmas parties...
While going for those events I always had to get the host a gift, as that is the appropriate thing to do, alot of times I was always thinking of what gift the host would appreciate the most, and then I remembered one of my creative ideas; Get a bottle of wine(Expensive or Inexpensive, Alcoholic or Non Alcoholic), one can never go wrong.
However the whole idea of just getting a wine bottle is pretty lazy, so I decided to glam up the bottles and make it more special.

Here are creative ideas to glam up your wine bottles:

When glamming up your wine bottle there are few factors you should consider(nothing technical)
  • Recepient of the gift
  • Time available for glamming up the bottle
  • Your budget
  • The event
After considering those factors, you are ready to start the glamming up process

Sample of Some Glammed Up Wine bottles:

1. The Inexpensive Option

Get simple ribbons with decorative details or plain and make a simple bow on the neck of the wine bottle

2. Express Decoration

If you are in a rush and have no experience with crafting, then stop by any gift store(e.g: Wrapped In It ) and ask for a fabric gift bag and simply place the wine bottle in the bag.

3. Themed Bottle Wrap

If you are going for a bachelor party or a bridal shower, then decorating the bottle with a dress or a masculine attire would be just the thing for you.

4.  Classy Packaging

For a corporate event or a house warming party, this bottle decoration is the most appropriate option as it shows a mixture of creativity and classiness.

5. Fabric Decoration

If you have any scrap fabric with great texture or pattern, then wrap the bottle with it and use a ribbon to tie around the neck of the bottle.

And there you have it, creative ideas for wrapping your wine bottles.
Try some out and add your own unique twist to it and send us an email with pictures
