Christmas season is here again and it is the season to be
jolly. We want to make the season jolly with our homemade Christmas tree
ornaments, rather than buying Christmas
tree ornaments this year why not make them, it can be a fun DIY project for the
family, or it can be a fun project to keep your children busy and also a way to
get your mind off things. Well let’s just dive into it…
1. Sparkling Ornaments
Things you'll need:
- Old light bulbs
- Glue
- Glitter
- String or metallic embroidery floss
Steps:
- Brush glue on the old light bulbs
- Roll the bulb in glitter
- Let it dry for 15 minutes
- Hot glue the string or metallic embroidery floss to the base
2. Red and White Bows
Things you'll need:
- Red and white ribbon (if help is needed on how to make a perfect bow, please send us an email for easy tips)
Steps:
- Tie red and white ribbon to the tree(or make bows and then attach to the tree)
3. Recycled cd ornaments
Things you would need:
- Old cd's
- string or ribbon
- Glue
- Cardboard or wrapping paper or fabric
- Family pictures/festive pictures
- Drill
Steps:
- Use the old cds as the base for the ornament
- Cut cardboard or wrapping paper or fabric to cover the cd to act as a background
- Glue the cardboard or wrapping paper or fabric to the old cd
- Get a family picture or any festive picture
- Cut it to fit into the cd
- Then glue to the cd
- Make a small hole with a drill
- Tie the string or ribbon on the
- Hang on the Christmas tree
4. Baking Molds
Things you would need:
- Old or new baking molds
- String or ribbon
- Spray paint
- Drill
Steps:
- Get the baking molds and spray with the spray paint (cover the working area with newspaper)
- Use drill to make a little hole and tie sting to it.
5. Retro Ornaments
Things you would need:
- Cardboard tubes
- Pipe cleaners
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Thread or string
Steps:
1. For
each ornament, flatten a 7 1/2-inch length of cardboard tube. Mark and cut it
into 3/4-inch-wide rings; you'll need 10 for this project.
2. On
each flattened ring, mark dots 3/4 inches in from each folded edge. With a hole punch, make holes at the dots.
3. Starting
with the inner circle, string the rings onto a pipe cleaner. For the outer
circle, twist two pipe cleaners together to make a double-long piece, and then
thread it through the outer holes in the cardboard rings. Twist the ends
together and trim the excess. Hang with thread or string.
